“You Asked for a King.”

🔥 Monday, May 19, 2025

📖 Scripture Focus

“Nevertheless, the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said, ‘No, but we will have a king over us...’”

    — 1 Samuel 8:19 (NKJV)

✉️ Today’s Message

Israel already had God, the perfect King. But they looked around at the world, became jealous of its power, and demanded something they could see and control.....

So God gave them what they asked for... and with it came burdens, taxes, corruption, and sorrow.

Just because God lets us have it… doesn’t mean He approves of it.

Some praise political victories, cultural shifts, or economic rebounds, which should be acknowledged, but let’s not confuse mercy with endorsement.

We may have cried out for deliverance, but we're still in trouble if our heart still wants a man to lead more than we want The Man of Sorrows.

🔥 Let Today Be the Day We Say:

✅ “I want Jesus as my King — not just a fixer.”

✅ “I won’t trade the presence of God for the applause of men.”

✅ “I won’t crown a man where only Christ belongs.”

📌 Stay alert. Stay anchored.

Because the moment you ask for a king…

You may get what you wanted —

But lost what you needed.

👣 Follow Jesus. Not Saul.

🕊️ Worship the King. Not the crowd.

More to come daily.
