A Heart-to-Heart from Pastor Terry, in Step with Jesus and His Word
Brothers and sisters, friends and families—I come to you today not with a hammer in my hand, but with a heart that’s heavy, eyes wide open, and a Bible that’s anything but silent.
We live in a time where make-believe has become mainstream belief, and where fantasy isn’t just a story anymore—it’s shaping souls. And I need to talk plainly to you about something that has become almost untouchable in our culture: Disney.
📖 Jesus’ Standard: Not Against Joy, But For Truth
Let’s start with Jesus. The same Jesus who lifted children onto His lap. The same Jesus who said:
“Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.” — Mark 10:14
But that same Jesus also said, with holy fire in His tone:
“Whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck…” — Matthew 18:6
He wasn’t playing games. He wasn’t concerned with being politically correct. He was—and is—concerned with protecting the hearts and minds of children.
🧠 The Battle Is for the Imagination
Now look, I’m not here to guilt-trip a mama who bought some Mickey ears. I’m not here to shame a daddy who once stood in line for Space Mountain. (I have been there and done that, myself.)
I’m here to shine a light on what’s hiding in the dark.
Once upon a time, Disney told stories about virtue, honor, and sacrifice. But today? More and more, they’re telling our kids:
"Follow your heart" instead of Follow the Word
"Love is love," instead of God is love
"You can be anything," instead of God made you fearfully and wonderfully
And they’re wrapping those messages in song, sparkle, and spellwork.
That ain't harmless. That’s hell’s version of discipleship.
👣 What Would Jesus Do? What Should We Do?
Jesus wouldn’t burn down a theme park. But He wouldn’t stay silent while wolves entertained His lambs either.
He’d walk into a home and say:
“Mama, Daddy—what’s shaping your child’s soul more: My Word or the world’s wonders?”
So yes, I believe Jesus would have us speak to this.
Not in a spirit of hate. Not with legalism. But with loving truth and righteous clarity.
👨👩👧 To Parents and Grandparents: This Is Our Watch
Let me talk to my fellow grandparents, to the mamas and daddies, to the ones raising babies in a world louder than ever:
If Disney’s teaching identity confusion, and you’re silent—your kids will listen to them louder than you.
If witches and warlocks are “just pretend” now—what happens when they’re not pretend later?
If you give them wonder without wisdom, you’re opening a door the devil’s just waiting to walk through.
But here’s the good news: You can disciple your kids in joy. You can tell better stories. Jesus is still the Greatest Story Ever Told—and His truth doesn’t need animation to shine.
🕯️ A Word of Grace, Not Condemnation
Friend, if you feel convicted—good. That’s the Holy Spirit, not me. If you feel defensive—pause. Ask yourself: why?
And if you’re thinking, “I didn’t know”— then praise God, because now you do.
This ain’t about banning Disney. This is about choosing Jesus. This ain’t about fear. It’s about faith.
And it’s not about robbing joy—it’s about redeeming joy for the glory of God.
🙏 Final Word: When the Magic Fades, the Truth Still Stands
There’s no pixie dust in Heaven. But there is glory. There’s no talking mice or gender-fluid fairies. But there is a King who speaks, walks, and saves.
And that’s the Kingdom I want my grandbabies walking toward.
“Come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord…” — 2 Corinthians 6:17“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” — John 8:32
So let’s teach our children the truth—lovingly, wisely, and clearly.
Let’s give them the Gospel, not a glittered-up distraction. Let’s give them Jesus, not just “Disney Jesus.”
Because when the magic fades, only truth remains.
