A Note from Pastor Terry:

Clarifying the Difference Between the Antichrist and the Son of Perdition

Friends, let’s dive a little deeper into the WORD to clarify something important:

The BIBLE tells us in 1 JOHN 2:18 that "even now many ANTICHRISTS have come." The term "ANTICHRIST" (Greek: ἀντίχριστος, antichristos) refers to anyone who denies CHRIST and opposes the true GOSPEL. In other words, many have indeed carried that spirit of opposition throughout history. Recognizing these terms shows respect for God's Word and helps us stay true to His message.

However, the SON OF PERDITION (Greek: υἱὸς τῆς ἀπωλείας, huios tēs apōleias) is a specific, singular figure. This term is used in 2 THESSALONIANS 2:3 to refer to the "man of sin" who will be revealed in the end times. It is also applied to JUDAS in JOHN 17:12 as the one destined for destruction. Understanding this distinction equips you to interpret prophecy accurately and confidently.

So, while there may be many ANTICHRISTS, there is only one SON OF PERDITION. Recognizing this helps you interpret prophecy with confidence and clarity, ensuring you understand God's plan correctly and with GRACE.

Feel free to use that however you like!
