We Are Not Talking About Apples and Oranges—We Are Talking About Heaven and Hell!

Introduction: The Greatest Decision of Your Life

There are a lot of things in life that don't matter in the grand scheme of things. Pepsi or Coke? Ford or Chevy? Apples or oranges? These are just preferences.

But what we're talking about today isn't a matter of personal taste. This is about Heaven and Hell.

It's not a debate. It's not a "difference of opinion." It's not a "choose your adventure."

🚨 It is a choice between eternal life and eternal separation from God.

And the most significant lie the enemy has ever told is that there's no real difference.

But let me tell you right now—there is a difference. One is life, one is death, one is joy, one is suffering, one is eternal reward, and one is eternal regret.

🚨 THIS IS NOT A SMALL MATTER. 🚨

And today, through God's Word, I will show you why this is the most essential choice you will ever make.

1. The World Wants to Blur the Lines

Biblical Example: Satan in the Garden (Genesis 3:1-5)

Satan didn't outright deny God's Word—he twisted it.

  • "Did God say…?"

  • "You won't surely die…"

And just like Eve, people today have bought into the lie that there's no real difference between right and wrong, saved and lost, Heaven and Hell.

Scripture:

  • Isaiah 5:20 – "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness."

  • John 8:44 – "When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies."

Illustration: Imagine a doctor saying, "It doesn't matter whether you take medicine or poison—just do what feels right." That's absurd! But spiritually, that's precisely what the world teaches today.

2. Jesus Made It Crystal Clear—There Are Only Two Destinations

Biblical Example: The Rich Man and Lazarus (Luke 16:19-31)

Jesus didn't tell this story as a parable—He gave specific names because this was real.

  • The Rich Man lived for himself, ignored God, and died without salvation.

  • Lazarus suffered in this life but trusted God—and was carried to Abraham's bosom (Heaven).

  • The Rich Man went straight to torment and begged for even a drop of water!

And Jesus made it clear—there was no crossing over.

Scripture:

  • Matthew 7:13-14 – "Wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it."

  • Revelation 20:15 – "Anyone whose name was not found written in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire."

Illustration: There's no "middle option." It's like boarding a plane. You can choose a destination but can't pick "somewhere in between." You're either flying to New York or Los Angeles. Heaven or Hell. No in-between.

3. Your Choice Has Eternal Consequences

Biblical Example: The Thief on the Cross (Luke 23:39-43)

Two men were nailed to crosses next to Jesus. Both had the same opportunity. One mocked Him. One repented.

  • One went to Heaven.

  • One went to Hell.

  • One moment determined their eternity.

Scripture:

  • 2 Corinthians 6:2 – "Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation!"

  • Hebrews 9:27 – "It is appointed unto man once to die and after that the judgment."

Illustration: If you were in a burning building and someone offered you a way out, you wouldn't argue about whether the fire was accurate—you would RUN TO SAFETY.

Heaven is real. Hell is real. And you must decide before it's too late.

Conclusion: What Will You Do?

Church, we're not talking about small things. We're not debating apples and oranges.

This is eternal life or eternal death.

And let me say this loud and clear—HELL IS NOT A PARTY.

  • There is no comfort.

  • There is no relief.

  • There is no second chance.

But Heaven?

  • No more tears (Revelation 21:4).

  • No more pain.

  • No more suffering.

  • Eternal joy in the presence of God.

🚨 FINAL SCRIPTURES:

  • John 3:36 – "Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on them."

  • Romans 10:9 – "If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."

Altar Call: Choose Today

"You are not promised tomorrow. Maybe you've been putting off this decision, thinking you'll 'get right with God later.' But later is not guaranteed. Eternity is real. Heaven is real. Hell is real. And today, you have a choice.

Will you surrender to Jesus now—or will you wait until it's too late?

If you're ready to choose Heaven—pray this prayer with me:

'Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I believe You died for me and rose again. Forgive me, save me, and change me. I give my life to You, in Jesus' name. Amen.'"
