🔥 Sunday Fire Sermon (2) – June 7, 2025.

“The Fire That Wouldn’t Let Me Walk Away”

“Yet now, if You will forgive their sin, but if not, I pray, blot me out of Your book which You have written.”Exodus 32:32 NKJV

🪵 INTRODUCTION

Let me tell you something, Church —This ain't a story for the cold-hearted, lukewarm, or half-saved. This is the kind of fire that burns through excuses, religious routines, and surface-level Christianity.

This is a fire that hits deep — because Moses didn’t just ask God to forgive his people…He offered his own soul in exchange.

And that, right there, is the kind of love the Church used to be known for.

🔥 POINT 1: REAL INTERCESSION ISN’T PRETTY — IT’S COSTLY

Moses didn’t say,

“God, they’re dumb sheep, do what You want.”

He said:

“Lord, I’ll go down with them if You won’t save them.”

Now that’s not rebellion — that’s reflection. Reflection of the heart of Jesus.

This kind of prayer doesn’t come from a prayer list —It comes from a broken spirit and a burning altar.

When was the last time you wept for someone else’s soul like that? When was the last time you said,

“Lord, don’t let them die lost — take me instead if You have to”?

🔥 POINT 2: GOD NEVER CHANGES — BUT HE LISTENS TO A BROKEN HEART

Some folks twist this passage and say,

“See? God changed His mind.”

No, He didn’t.

God was showing Moses — and showing us — that while His justice is immovable, His mercy is accessible.

When Moses stood in the gap, it didn’t change God’s nature —It revealed it.

A righteous God always responds to repentance — and intercession.

🔥 POINT 3: THIS ISN’T JUST ABOUT MOSES — IT’S ABOUT YOU

You see, this story ain’t over.

Because right now, Jesus is still interceding at the right hand of the Father. And guess who He’s pleading for?

You. Me. All of us.

But here’s the fire that won’t let me walk away —Who are you interceding for?

We got loved ones on their way to hell — and we’re more concerned about brunch.

We got children raised in church now sleeping with the world — and the altar’s dry.

We post Scriptures online but ain’t cried at the altar in months.

Moses stood in the gap and said,

“Take me instead.”

And Jesus did. He became the one taken.

So now it’s my\your turn.

🧨 ALTAR CALL – THE GAP IS OPEN… WHO WILL STAND IN IT?

This altar today is for those who still believe that prayer saves lives. That fire can still fall. That God still listens.

If you’ve lost your tears, come find them. If you’ve stopped pleading, come kneel again. If you’ve grown cold, come let the fire burn again.

And if you're not saved — listen close:

Someone already stood in the gap for you.His name is Jesus. And His blood is still wet on the Mercy Seat.

🙏 THE SINNER’S PRAYER

“Lord Jesus, I don’t want to just be religious. I want to be redeemed. Forgive me for my sins. Wash me clean in the blood You shed. I believe You stood in the gap for me — and I receive You now. I turn away from sin and give You my whole life. In Jesus’ name, amen.”

💥 THE CHALLENGE

Church — the fire isn’t gone. It’s just waiting for someone to kneel down and light it again.

Don’t let the ashes fool you —The coals are still glowing.

Be the one who keeps the fire burning.
