Today, I want to explore the topic of dealing with Depression. While it is difficult to face, God’s Word teaches us that there are ways to move forward and receive healing for our minds and hearts. One way is by actively engaging with Scripture to help encourage our minds and hearts. Here are five Scriptures on dealing with depression:
1. Psalm 34:18- “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” This verse encourages us that no matter what we’re facing, God is near and ready to assist us in finding healing through Him.
2. Isaiah 41:10 - “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and help you and uphold you with my righteous right hand.” This verse reminds us that we don’t have to face our struggles alone – God is always there to provide strength and assistance.
3. Psalm 147:3 - “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” This verse tells us that even though it may feel like our heart has been broken or wounded by depression, God can still heal us through His love and grace.
4. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 - “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we are comforted by God.” Through this verse, we can find assurance that God is always there for us through His mercy and comfort.
5. Psalm 30:5 - “Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.” This verse reminds us that although things might seem dark and complicated now, eventually, joy will come again after the darkness passes away.
No matter what you or someone you love is going through due to depression, know that God is with you and ready to bring healing. Encourage yourselves and each other with these Scriptures on dealing with Depression. Amen.
