Response To Ernie #1

Ernie, my Brother In Christ, my Friend, thank you for sharing this insight. I told you I’d dig deep into your belief, and I meant it. This gave me the perfect opportunity to practice what I constantly preach — don’t just take anyone’s word for truth, not even mine, but be like the Bereans in Acts 17:11 who “searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.”

Some believe, like you, that all names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life at the moment of Conception, and only blotted out through unbelief, as pointed out in Luke 10:20, where Jesus says, “Rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”

That’s why it’s worth careful study, it causes one (me) to consider:

“The real question isn’t, ‘Was my name ever written?’ It’s, ‘Will my name remain?’”

In full disclosure, I strongly expected your view to hold, and after searching the Word, I believe it does:

Revelation 3:5 speaks of names being blotted out, Revelation 13:8 and 17:8 mention names not found from the foundation of the world, and Revelation 20:15 shows the eternal consequence.

To me, the pattern is this — God desires that none should perish (2 Peter 3:9). Every name begins written, but those who die without Christ are blotted out. The tragedy is not that God never wrote their name, but that they refused the gift that would have kept it there forever.

“The tragedy isn’t that God failed to write a name — it’s that a soul refused the gift that would have kept it there forever.”

I share this conclusion with respect for your question and gratitude for the challenge you posed. However, I believe you would agree that this isn’t about us being right or our names being remembered. It’s about God’s Word being true, and Christ’s Name being exalted.

Because at the end of the day, it’s not about the minister's — it’s about the Message.

And the Message is this: Jesus Christ alone secures our name forever in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

“The good news is this: once Christ writes His name over yours, no one can blot it out.”

Love You Brother
