How Did We Go From āFollow Meā to āRedefine Meā?ā¦And Why Are So Many Christians Okay With It?
š SCRIPTURAL WARNING:
Letās be real. Jesus didnāt stutter, and Scripture didnāt change. But in todayās world, it seems like even Christians are rewriting the GospelĀ to fit in, instead of standing up.
Jesus warned us this would happen.
š„ KEY SCRIPTURES WITH TEEN-LEVEL BREAKDOWN:
1. Matthew 24:4-5 (NKJV)
āTake heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, āI am the Christ,ā and will deceive many.ā
šļø Keyword: āDeceivesāĀ (Greek: planao) ā to cause someone to wander away, to be misled or morally seduced.
š Explanation: Jesus wasnāt just talking about fake messiahs. He was warning that many people will use His nameĀ but teach a different messageāand itāll feel right, sound nice, and seem harmless⦠but it will lead people off course.
š Teens, ask yourselves: Is what Iām hearing from influencers, even āChristianā ones, calling me to holiness⦠or just helping me feel good about compromise?
2. 2 Timothy 4:3-4 (NKJV)
āFor the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine⦠they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.ā
šļø Keyword: āSound DoctrineāĀ (Greek: hugiainÅ didaskalia) ā healthy, whole, trustworthy teaching that leads to godly living.
š Explanation: Paul is telling us straight-up: a time will come when people wonāt put up with the absolute truth. Theyāll want āfeel-goodā fablesāstories, opinions, and affirmations that donāt challenge them to change.
š Teens, look around:
Have your friends or even some youth pastors stopped talking about sin, repentance, and the Cross? Thatās not loveāthatās spiritual poison dressed up in positivity.
3. Romans 1:25 (NKJV)
āā¦[they] exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creatorā¦ā
šļø Keyword: āExchangedāĀ (Greek: metallassÅ) ā to swap one thing for another, as in trading treasure for trash.
š Explanation: This verse shows the heart of all deceptionātrading Godās truth for cultural lies. We see this when people elevate feelings over faith, identity over obedience, and popularity over purity.
š Teens, make it plain: You canāt follow Jesus and also follow the worldās version of ātruth.ā You have to choose the Cross or the crowd.
š¢ MODERN-DAY SPIRITUAL ADULTERY:
What weāre seeing todayāpeople loving Jesus with their lips but cheating on Him with the worldāis what the Bible calls spiritual adultery. Theyāre dating Jesus but are married to the worldās values.
James 4:4 (NKJV)āDo you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God?ā
šļø Keyword: āEnmityāĀ (Greek: echthra) ā deep-rooted hostility; total opposition.
š Explanation:If youāre chasing the worldās approval, youāre putting yourself on the opposite side of Godās truth. Thatās not a friendshipāitās war.
š URGENT TEEN-LEVEL TAKEAWAY:
Jesus doesnāt change. The world does.
If your āversionā of Jesus never corrects you, challenges you, or convicts youāyouāre following a counterfeit.
Satanās biggest weapon is not Satanismāitās disguised deceptionĀ that looks like love but leads to destruction.
š¢ CALL TO ACTION FOR TEENS:
š”ļø Share this message with your friends:
āJesus didnāt change. Truth didnāt shift.Weāve been lied to. And weāre being played.Itās time to WAKE UP, suit up, and follow Jesus like it actually matters.ā
