This essay is based on Biblical Scriptures for those who want to pray for those who attend churches but deny the deity of Jesus Christ.
Firstly, it's important to understand that the belief in the deity of Jesus Christ is a fundamental tenet of the Christian faith. Jesus Himself declared His God in John 10:30 when He said, "The Father and I are one." In John 8:58, Jesus further stated, "Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am." Finally, Jesus used the exact phrase "I am" that God used to reveal Himself to Moses in the burning bush in Exodus 3:14. These verses, along with many others, establish the deity of Jesus Christ.
Unfortunately, some individuals who attend churches claim to be Christians but deny the deity of Jesus Christ. This is a severe issue as it goes against the very foundation of the Christian faith. However, as Christians, we are called to love and pray for those with different beliefs. In Matthew 5:44, Jesus teaches us to love our enemies and pray for those persecuting us.
When praying for those who deny the deity of Jesus Christ, we should first pray that they come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. In John 14:6, Jesus says, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." Therefore, we should pray that they recognize Jesus as the only way to salvation and put their faith in Him.
We should also pray that their eyes are opened to the truth of who Jesus is. In 2 Corinthians 4:4, the Apostle Paul writes, "The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God." We should pray that the Holy Spirit would remove the blinders and reveal the truth of Jesus Christ to them.
Furthermore, we should pray that their hearts are softened to the truth. In Ezekiel 36:26, God promises, "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh." We should pray that God would soften their hearts and remove any hardness toward the truth of Jesus Christ.
