Notes on Grace.

Did you know the concept of being declared righteous through faith in Jesus Christ is a central tenet of Christian doctrine? Let's explore what these Scriptures say about this:

  1. Declared Righteous Through Faith in Christ

  • The Bible teaches that through faith in Jesus Christ, we are seen as righteous in God's eyes. We cannot earn this righteousness on our own; it's a gift given to us because of what Jesus did. It's like being given a clean slate despite our past mistakes.

  • These verses (Romans 3:21-22; I Corinthians 1:30; II Corinthians 5:21; Philippians 3:9) explain that our righteousness comes from Jesus. It's like Jesus giving us a perfect score on a test we couldn't pass.

  1. No Longer Under God's Wrath

  • Believing in Jesus and accepting Him saves us from God's judgment for our sins. This is like being rescued from a dangerous situation because someone else took our place.

  • John 3:36, Romans 5:9, and Romans 8:1 speak to this, assuring us that those who believe in Jesus are not subject to the wrath of God. It's a profound shift from being under judgment to being under God's grace and protection.

Through faith in Jesus, we are seen as righteous before God, not because of our deeds, but because of Jesus' sacrifice. This belief rescues us from the judgment we would face due to our shortcomings and sins, offering us grace, forgiveness, and a new life in Christ.
