“And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him…”— Colossians 2:13 (NKJV)

🪵 Introduction – “No Trespassing Signs from Heaven”
Now I don’t know where you grew up, friend, but down South, when you saw a “NO TRESPASSING” sign nailed to a fence post, you knew that land wasn’t yours. You crossed it anyway; you’d better be faster than the shotgun behind the door.
But today? Folks cross Spiritual lines like the paint ain’t even dry. They tear down the boundaries God Himself put up. They say things like:
“That’s your truth. This is my body. That’s old-fashioned religion.”
But I’m here today to tell you — with love and fire in my bones —You can’t trespass God’s truth and call it liberty. You can’t steal what doesn’t belong to you and call it “living your truth.” Mercy posts signs. Judgment responds when they're ignored.
🧠 Point 1: What Does “Trespass” Really Mean?
In the Bible, trespass means more than just sin. It means to cross a line God clearly drew. It’s stepping past boundaries He established —on purpose.
The Hebrew calls it “pesha” — rebellion. The Greek calls it “paraptōma” — a false step, a willful deviation. The Aramaic calls it “ḥōbāʾ” — a debt you cannot pay back without mercy.
Friend, that’s what sin is. It’s not just a mistake. It’s a crossing. It’s a robbery.
And when we normalize trespassing — in our pulpits, our politics, and our parenting — we teach a generation to ignore God’s posted warnings.
🔥 Point 2: God Draws Lines — Not Suggestions
Let me be real clear now.
God drew a line around sexual purity — and the world is trespassing it.
God drew a line around life in the womb — and they’ve trampled it.
God drew a line around truth and deception — and now we have a culture that calls good evil and evil good.
You know what Isaiah 5:20 says?
“Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;who put darkness for light, and light for darkness…”
Woe. That’s God’s word for trouble’s comin’.
You see, He doesn’t give suggestions. He posts signs. He says, “Don’t cross this.” And He means it.
💔 Point 3: Trespassing Isn’t Just Political — It’s Personal
Let me take it home for a moment.
You can trespass into someone’s heart with bitterness.
You can trespass into God’s time with your apathy.
You can trespass into unforgiveness and call it "boundaries."
But listen here — if you expect forgiveness from God, then you better learn to give it to others.
Jesus said:
“Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.”
Now that’s not a Hallmark verse — that’s a warning.
You don’t get forgiveness if you’re not passing it along.
✝️ Point 4: Jesus Took the Trespasser’s Place
Now don’t you dare walk outta here thinkin’ this is all judgment and no hope.
Because Jesus didn’t die to post a bigger sign.He died to become the gate back to the Father.
“He was wounded for our transgressions…” — Isaiah 53:5
He took the place of every trespasser —not to remove the line, but to offer mercy when we’ve crossed it.
You can’t undo your past. But you can kneel at the foot of the cross…and hear the words:
“Today, you are forgiven.”
🛐 Altar Call – You’ve Crossed the Line… Now Cross Back
You know in your heart if you’ve crossed it. You know if you’re livin’ over the line and actin’ like the fence doesn’t exist.
But God’s Word stands —And tonight, He’s sayin’ this:
“Come back. Before it’s too late.”
No more excuses. No more ignoring the sign. No more soft preaching. You’ve heard the truth.
🙏 Pray This With Me:
“Lord Jesus, I’ve stepped where I shouldn’t.I’ve crossed the lines You set. I’ve sinned, I’ve rebelled, I’ve made excuses. But today, I stop. I turn around. I come home. I believe You died for my trespasses and rose to forgive me. I give You my life — and I won’t cross back.
In Jesus’ name, amen.”
