Greetings, friends and family on Facebook. Today, I feel moved to share the remarkable journey God has led me on. It's a story of trials and triumphs, a testament to the unending Grace and strength found in our Lord Jesus Christ.
Born in Selma, Alabama, and raised in the humble town of Camden, my life has been a mosaic of experiences. From the disciplined life in the Air Force to the challenging days as an Oregon logger and the long roads traversed as a trucker across the USA and Canada, each step was a lesson in faith and resilience.
My transformation in Christ began at the age of 28. It was a turning point where the old paths gave way to a new journey in faith. This transformation was akin to Saul's on the road to Damascus (Acts 9:1-19). The Lord turned my struggles into strengths, guiding me through battles with alcoholism and the shadows of PTSD. Through His grace, I emerged a cancer survivor, a testament to His healing power.
In my service as a pastor, counselor, and chaplain, I've been blessed to extend Christ's love to others.
Mark 10:45 has been my guiding scripture: "For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." This service is not just a duty; it's a privilege to share the hope and love of Jesus with those in need.
My education journey, embracing teachings from Pentecostal, Nazarene, and Baptist traditions, has shown me the beautiful diversity in the body of Christ, as described in 1 Corinthians 12:12-14. Despite our different backgrounds and experiences, we are united in our faith and purpose in Christ.
Today, as I reflect on my life's path – from Alabama to Oregon and Montana, through military bases and diverse ministries – I am profoundly grateful for every trial and triumph. Romans 8:28 resonates deeply with me: "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."
This journey is not just mine; it's a journey we all share as believers. I encourage you to embrace your path, knowing God is with you every step. May we all find strength in our trials, transformation in our Faith, and Joy in serving others.
In closing, I pray: Lord Jesus, thank You for Your guiding light in our lives. Help us to be beacons of Your love and grace to those around us.
Amen.
