1 Samuel 30:6 - - - And David was greatly distressed; for the people spoke of stoning him because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters: but David "ENCOURAGED HIMSELF" in the Lord his God.
How can I ENCOURAGE myself in The Lord?
When we encourage ourselves in the Lord, we put our hope and trust in Him. It means we believe He is whom He says He is and will do what He says He will do. It means we depend on Him to give us the strength and wisdom to face challenges.
The Bible tells us to encourage ourselves in the Lord because He is our source of strength and hope. When we encourage ourselves in the Lord, we’re reminding ourselves that He is the one who gives us the power to do everything He has called us to do. We need His strength to overcome sin and His wisdom to live according to His plan.
There are many ways we can encourage ourselves in the Lord. We can start by reading His Word daily and letting it sink deep into our hearts. We can pray regularly and ask God to help us trust Him more daily. We can also serve others in His name and share the Good News of His love with those around us.
When we encourage ourselves in the Lord, we’re not just building up our faith but also setting an example for others. As they see us trusting God and depending on His strength, they will be encouraged to do the same. And that’s one of the best ways we can glorify God – by living out our faith for all to see!
