📖 Habakkuk 3:19 (NKJV).

“The Lord God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, And He will make me walk on my high hills.”

🗝️ Keyword Translation:

  • Deer’s feet (Hebrew: 'ayyaloth) – nimble, swift, sure-footed; able to climb and leap in rocky terrain.

  • High hills (Hebrew: bamot) – elevated, inaccessible places; also associated with spiritual altitude and God-ordained heights.

💡 Explanation:

This is not a promise of comfort, but of stability on unstable ground. God doesn’t always change the terrain; He changes the feet that walk on it. The imagery is of a mountain goat—calm, balanced, thriving where others fall.

Habakkuk is basically saying, “Even if the crops fail, the flocks vanish, and the world goes sideways… God will make me sure-footed. I will stand on heights others can’t even reach!”

🧭 Application Nugget:

When life gets rocky, don't pray for an escape. Pray for deer feet. Let the Holy Spirit make you steady, fearless, and agile in the climb. God’s calling you higher—even if the hill is steep.
