The U.S. Department of Justice has recently requested sensitive voter‑roll data on non‑citizens from California counties—even though non‑citizen voting in federal or statewide elections is already illegal and extremely rare (The Guardian).
Meanwhile, among young Americans (ages 18–29), there’s growing favorability toward socialism (62%), and notably, even 34% express positive views of communism—a philosophy historically inimical to freedom itself (Cato Institute).
A Little Biblical Reflection, If I may:
I find myself asking: “Why would someone vote to change America the Great into America the Communist?”
I'm convinced it's not about ballots—it’s about something far more profound: Ephesians 4:14 warns us against being tossed here and there by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. The spiritual root of political confusion is often deception and spiritual blindness.
The Apostle Paul reminds us in (2 Thessalonians 2:11–12): “Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned … because they did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”We’re living in a season where the lie begins to feel more appealing than the cost of the truth.
Scripture That Hits Hard—and Heals
1. Ephesians 4:14
“That we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine…”
This isn’t about politics—it’s about Spiritual maturity: standing firm in the Word rather than swaying with emotional movements or trending ideologies, no matter how ‘inclusive’ or ‘egalitarian’ they sound.
2. 2 Thessalonians 2:11–12
“And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie…”
America is not immune to collective spiritual sway. When the truth of Scripture is neglected, the soul is left vulnerable—and young hearts who sense injustice become easy prey for ideologies promising Utopia, even when history screams “Tyranny!”
Why This Matters—And How We Respond
Don’t demonize honest confusion or youthful idealism. But neither can we cheer it on without Scripture’s filters.
Preach truth with grace: remind us all that freedom isn’t free, and God‑given liberty bears responsibility, not entitlement.
Pray for Spiritual clarity, especially for young voters sensing economic despair—and teach them the only true path to flourishing: truth, repentance, and humility before God.
My heart says: Let’s not stand by while strong delusion derails a generation. Instead, let’s stand in the gap—with bold grace, unwavering conviction, and the Word as our foundation.
