Battles of Life: Choosing God's Path. (For Younger Believers).

Introduction:

Good morning, young friends! Today, I want to share a story with you. Imagine you have your favorite toy or snack. Now, your best friend comes over and wants to play with it or have a bite. What would you do? It's a tough choice, right?

Just like in our story, life is full of choices and challenges. Even grown-ups face them every day. But guess what? The Bible tells us stories about these challenges and how God wants us to face them.

Part 1: Understanding Life's Challenges:

Long ago, Adam and Eve faced a big challenge in a beautiful garden. God told them they could eat from any tree except one. But a sneaky serpent tricked them into eating from that one forbidden tree. This story from Genesis shows us that everyone faces tough choices.

Part 2: The Two Paths

The Bible teaches us that there are two ways we can live. We can follow our own wishes, which might seem right but lead us away from God, as Proverbs 14:12 says. Or, we can choose God's way, which is always the best path, even when it rains on everyone, just like in Matthew 5:45.

Let's do a quick game. Imagine you're at a crossroads. One path is your way, and the other is God's way. Which path will you choose? Remember, though sometimes challenging, God's path leads to the best adventures!

Part 3: Overcoming with God:

In Romans 8, the Bible tells us a fantastic truth: if God is with us, who can be against us? It's like being on a superhero team. We might face formidable villains or challenges, but we have super strength with God!

Part 4: Living in God's Strength:

Living with God's Spirit, as explained in Galatians, is like having a secret weapon. It helps us make the right choices, like being kind, praying, and helping others, even when it's hard.

Part 5: Staying Alert and Choosing Wisely:

Just like a good soldier stays alert, we should be watchful. The Bible, in I Peter 5:8 and I John 2:16-17, tells us to be on the lookout for things that might lead us away from God's path. Let's decide to choose God's way every day!

Conclusion:

So, my brave young friends, remember, with God's help, you're more than conquerors in every challenge. Let's pray together and ask God for strength and wisdom to face our battles.

Prayer

Dear God, thank you for being our greatest helper. Please give us strength and wisdom to choose your way every day. - - - Amen.

Takeaways:

Our special verse for this week is Romans 8:37: "No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us." Remember a time this week when you chose God's way over your own, and share it with us next time!
