A Spirit-Led Comparison of Raising Children in the South (1950s–60s) vs. Today.

I KNOW THIS IS LONG! BUT BY THE GRACE OF GOD, I TRULY BELIEVE IT IS ANOINTED:

 LINEAR PARALLELS: Then vs. Now

 1. FOUNDATIONAL TRUTH: GOD’S WORD vs. MAN’S OPINION

THEN (1950s–60s):

Children were taught:

 The Bible is truth.

 The Ten Commandments are law.

 Right and wrong come from God.

 Prayer in school was normal, expected, and often led by a teacher.

NOW:

Children are taught:

 Truth is relative.

 Morality is personal.

 The Bible is outdated or offensive.

 Prayer is banned, but profanity is protected.

 Biblical Foundation:

    “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.”

    — Proverbs 1:7

 Man’s Substitution:

The politically correct have replaced divine absolutes with personal preferences.

 2. FAMILY STRUCTURE: HONORING FATHERS AND MOTHERS vs. DECONSTRUCTING THE HOME

THEN:

 Fathers were respected as providers and protectors.

 Mothers were honored as nurturers and moral teachers.

 Discipline was viewed as love.

 Children were taught to submit and obey with reverence.

NOW:

 Fathers are mocked or removed altogether.

 Motherhood is viewed as optional or burdensome.

 Discipline is rebranded as abuse.

 Children are encouraged to question, disobey, or “report” their parents.

 Biblical Foundation:

    “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long…”

    — Exodus 20:12

 Woke Reversal:

Parental authority has been traded for state authority and peer validation.

 3. EDUCATION: FEARING THE LORD vs. FEARING OFFENSE

THEN:

 Schools displayed the Ten Commandments.

 Bible verses were read aloud.

 Teachers were moral examples.

 Students were corrected quickly and respectfully.

NOW:

 Ten Commandments are banned.

 “Gender identity” books are celebrated.

 Teachers are activists.

 Discipline is delayed or avoided altogether.

 Biblical Foundation:

    “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”

    — Proverbs 22:6

 Man’s New Creed:

“Train up a child in how they feel they should go, and affirm them even if it leads to destruction.”

 4. VALUE OF LIFE: FEARFULLY MADE vs. LEGALLY DISPOSABLE

THEN:

 Children were viewed as a blessing from God.

 Pregnancy outside of marriage was addressed with urgency, not celebration.

 Every baby was seen as a divine creation.

NOW:

 Unborn life is optional.

 Abortion is praised as empowerment.

 Gender is treated as fluid.

 Children are told they can be “reassigned” by age 5.

 Biblical Foundation:

    “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you...”

    — Jeremiah 1:5

    “You knit me together in my mother’s womb.”

    — Psalm 139:13

 Man’s Doctrine:

Life begins when we say it does, and identity is determined by how you feel, not how God designed.

 5. CONSEQUENCE vs. ENTITLEMENT

THEN:

 Children learned: If you break a rule, there’s a cost.

 Hard work was honored.

 Responsibility came with rights.

NOW:

 Children are shielded from consequences.

 Laziness is excused as trauma.

 Entitlement has replaced effort.

 Biblical Foundation:

    “Do not be deceived: God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.”

    — Galatians 6:7

 Modern Madness:

You don’t have to reap anything — just blame someone else and demand reparations.

 6. GENDER & IDENTITY: CREATED MALE AND FEMALE vs. CREATED BY FEELING

THEN:

 Boys were trained to become men of integrity.

 Girls were nurtured to become women of virtue.

 Marriage was sacred.

 Identity was understood as divinely assigned.

NOW:

 Gender is rebranded as “fluid.”

 Children are offered hormones before maturity.

 Marriage is mocked or redefined.

 Identity is now self-declared, not God-ordained.

 Biblical Foundation:

    “Male and female He created them…”

    — Genesis 1:27

    “God is not the author of confusion…”

    — 1 Corinthians 14:33

 Woke Indoctrination:

Confusion is normalized. Biology is bigotry. God’s design is hate speech.

 SUMMARY: The Children Are Still Watching

The children of the 1950s–60s were raised to fear God, respect authority, honor life, and work hard.

They weren’t perfect—but they/we knew right from wrong.

Today’s children are raised to:

    question everything sacred

    trust the state more than the Savior

    demand rights without accountability

    and deny the God who made them

 BIBLICAL RESPONSE TO MODERN MADNESS

    Preach the Word without apology – 2 Timothy 4:2

    Raise your children in the Lord, not in the world – Ephesians 6:4

    Call evil what it is: evil – Isaiah 5:20

    Be a watchman, not a wallflower – Ezekiel 33:7

    Expose lies, speak truth in love – Ephesians 4:15

 CLOSING CHARGE TO THE CHURCH AND THE HOME

 We are not trying to “go back” to the 50s.

We’re trying to return to the God of the Bible — the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8)

We’ve gone from “Honor your father and mother” to “Honor yourself and ignore your Creator.”

But it’s not too late for a remnant to rise.

Not too late for homes to repent.

Not too late for the Church to speak like watchmen instead of whisper like cowards.
