📜 Mission Theme:
These two books complete each other like a trumpet and a storm:
1 Thessalonians delivers the blessed hope of Christ’s return.
Revelation unveils the details of the Day of the Lord — the fire, the fury, and the faithful remnant who overcome.
🪖 SCRIPTURE 1: 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17
“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout… and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up…”
🔑 Key Words & Translation:
Caught up (Greek: harpazō): To snatch away suddenly and forcefully — where we get the term “Rapture.”
Shout (Greek: kelusma): A military command, a call to assemble
💡 Explanation:
The Rapture won’t be a whisper — it’ll be a cosmic call to rise. Paul describes the Church’s departure as a rescue operation before the judgment begins. Just as Noah entered the ark and Lot fled from Sodom, God calls His own before the storm hits full force.
🪖 SCRIPTURE 2: Revelation 3:10
“Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation…”
🔑 Key Words & Translation:
Keep thee from (Greek: terēsō ek): To guard from within or remove from the midst of
Hour of temptation: The Tribulation — a global time of testing and wrath
💡 Explanation:
To the faithful church (Philadelphia), Jesus promises preservation — either by escape or divine covering. Not all believers agree on when we go, but all agree that He will keep His own. The Church may face hardship, but she will never face God’s wrath.
🪖 SCRIPTURE 3: Revelation 12:6, 14
“And the woman fled into the wilderness… where she hath a place prepared of God… where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time.”
🔑 Key Words & Translation:
Woman: Symbolic of Israel (and by prophetic type, also God’s covenant people)
Nourished: Spiritually sustained, supernaturally protected
💡 Explanation:
This reveals God’s divine sheltering system — a hiding place amidst chaos. Whether literal wilderness or symbolic covering, the pattern is consistent: God provides protection during persecution. This may be a window into how some believers endure tribulation without being consumed by it.
🔥 FINAL WORD:
The Thessalonian letters encourage us to comfort one another with hope. Revelation prepares us to endure and overcome. Together they teach:
Christ is coming suddenly
Tribulation is coming globally
Protection is coming divinely
We don’t run from prophecy — we rise in it.We don’t fear tribulation — we walk through it, under the wings of our Redeemer.
