Weekend Edition — “Time, Need, and Creation”

From Pastor Terry W. Bailey

Bringing Faith to the Frontlines of Everyday Life

🕰️ 1. A Gift of Time — Daylight Saving Ends

This Sunday, the nation “falls back” an hour. Some will cheer for more sleep, others will groan at early darkness. But every shift of time carries a reminder from Heaven: time is God’s gift, not man’s invention.

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the Heavens.” — Ecclesiastes 3:1

That “extra hour” isn’t a bonus for busyness — it’s an invitation to breathe, pray, rest, and realign. The world hurries, but the Spirit whispers, “Be still and know that I am God.”

🕯️ Midnite Reflection:Take the hour you gain and give it back to the Lord. Use it to write, worship, call a friend, or simply thank Him for the moments you still have to make eternal impact.

🍞 2. Faith in the Midst of Need — Food Aid Uncertainty

With federal gridlock and a possible shutdown affecting food programs, millions of families face real worry. As believers, this is our moment to remember: the early Church grew in times of famine because they shared everything they had (Acts 2:44–47).

“Look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.” — Philippians 2:4

Our calling isn’t to curse the darkness, but to carry the light. Whether through prayer, partnership with food ministries, or a simple meal shared, Love must move.

🕯️ Midnite Reflection:Wherever you see hunger — physical, emotional, or spiritual — be the one who offers Bread, not blame. Remember, Jesus is the Bread of Life, and every act of compassion feeds both body and soul.

☀️ 3. The Heavens Declare — Sunspots and Signs

Scientists report a new wave of sunspots emerging on the solar surface, stirring talk of flares and auroras. But for the believer, this isn’t a reason for fear — it’s a cue for awe.

“The Heavens declare the Glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His Hands.” — Psalm 19:1

From the smallest seed to the mightiest star, Creation testifies. Our Creator’s fingerprints are everywhere — even on the fiery storms of the sun.

🕯️ Midnite Reflection:Lift your eyes higher than the headlines. Let wonder fuel worship. God’s Power is not shaken by cosmic storms — it creates them.

🌿 3 Questions for Reflection & Prayer

  1. Time: How can I honor God with the extra hour I’ve been given this weekend?

  2. Need: Who in my circle is silently struggling — and how can I bring Light to their table?

  3. Creation: When was the last time I stood still long enough to be amazed by God’s handiwork?

✝️ Closing Word

Honesty, compassion, and awe — these three mark the heart of a believer walking faithfully through uncertain times. As you step into this weekend, remember: Honesty isn’t the best policy for Christians — it’s the only one.

Stay alert. Stay prayerful. Stay watching.
