Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you today with gratitude and humility, thanking you for the gift of Love and the sacred institution of Marriage. As we prepare for this journey of unity, we pray for guidance and wisdom.
Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." In light of this, we surrender our plans, hopes, and futures to you. We ask that you guide our path and direct our steps towards a love that reflects your divine Love.
We ask for patience and understanding, as described in Ephesians 4:2, "Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love." Please help us to uphold these virtues, to respect one another, and to bear each other's burdens with grace and compassion.
We are reminded in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, "Love is patient, Love is kind. It does not envy, and it does not boast; it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, is not self-seeking, is not easily angered, and keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." Father, we pray that our Love for each other embodies this scripture and that our Marriage becomes a testament to your unconditional Love.
Father, as we stand on the cusp of this sacred covenant, we ask for your blessing. May our union be a shining light, a beacon of your Love. May we grow together, sharing joys, overcoming trials, and building a faith-based family. As in Colossians 3:14, we pray, "Above all, clothe ourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony." Let this divine Love be our garment, shield, and strength.
We pray all this in your Holy Name, confident in your promise in Matthew 19:26, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." Amen.
