Changing Bad Habits For Good Ones.

Have you ever heard of bad habits? They're those things we do that we know we shouldn't do, but it feels hard to stop doing them. The Bible talks about changing our bad habits into good ones!

One of the Scriptures that talks about this is Psalm 37:1-9. This might sound a little confusing, but let me break it down for you. The Scripture says we should stop being envious, jealous, covetous, and greedy. These are all things that we do when we're not following Jesus. But instead of doing those things, we should focus on delighting in the Lord, committing our ways to Him, and waiting patiently for Him. What does that mean? It means we should love and follow God, trust Him to guide us, and have patience and faith in His timing.

Another Scripture that talks about changing bad habits is James 3:13-17. This Scripture tells us what good habits we should have instead. Instead of being jealous or having selfish desires, we should be pure, peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, and unwavering without hypocrisy. This can sound tricky, but we should be kind, gentle, and fair to others, show compassion and love to those around us, and always stay true to our beliefs.

Simply put, the Bible tells us that we should leave our bad habits behind and focus on being good and kind to others, trusting in God, and being patient and faithful. So, for example, instead of being jealous of your friend who got a new toy, be happy for them! And if someone is being mean to you, be patient and kind instead of getting angry or fighting back.

Remember, changing bad habits can be challenging, but we can do it with God's help and guidance!
