What Is the Opposite of Faith?

🌙 The Midnight Watch Message, a time when the world is asleep but the faithful are awake, vigilant, and prayerful.

"What Is the Opposite of Faith?"

Driving past a church today, I saw a sign asking: “What is the opposite of faith — doubt or uncertainty?”

Now, that’s a good question — but it’s missing the Biblical truth. You see, “doubt” and “uncertainty” are secular answers that describe a human condition. But the Bible gives a spiritual answer — the opposite of faith is fear.

Faith believes God is and that His Word will do what it says.Fear believes the enemy’s lie that God won’t. Trust in God's Word brings security and peace, dispelling fear and doubt.

That’s why so many are shaken today — because the Church has been taught to define Spiritual principles by secular meanings. We’ve traded Biblical revelation for cultural explanation. But beloved, the Word of God doesn’t need the world’s dictionary — it already carries Heaven’s definition!

Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”Romans 10:17 reminds us, “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.”And 2 Timothy 1:7 declares, “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.”

So let’s stop letting the world interpret our faith. Let’s let faith interpret the world!

Because in these last days, you’ll either live by faith in God, or fear of man. And only one leads to victory.
