Understanding Heavenly Rewards (to the young).

Today, I want to talk to you about something really special that is all about how much Jesus Christ loves you, and how you can show Him your love. It's called heavenly rewards, and it's all about what God has in store for you when you obey Him and follow His Word.

So, let's start with what Jesus Himself said in Luke 6:46: "Why do you call me 'Lord, Lord,' and not do what I tell you?" He means here that it's not enough to say you love Him - you must show it by doing what He asks of you. In John 14:23-24, Jesus says, "If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him."

But sometimes, knowing what God wants us to do can be challenging, right? Well, that's where the Bible comes in! In I John 2:3-4, we learn that if we obey God's Word, we can know that we truly know Jesus. And in I John 5:3, we hear that God's commandments are not burdensome - that means they are not too hard for us to follow!

Following God's Word is essential because it determines what rewards we will receive in heaven. II Corinthians 5:10 says, "For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil." That means what we do here on earth will affect what we receive in heaven!

But don't worry - following God's Word is not something to fear or stress about. It's something to be excited about because when we work hard and do our best to obey Him, He promises to reward us! Colossians 3:23-25 says, "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward." And Ist Peter 1:17 reminds us that since God is our Father, we should conduct ourselves with fear (meaning respect) throughout our time here on earth.

So, to put it all together, When you love Jesus Christ and show it by obeying His Word, you are setting yourself up for beautiful rewards in heaven. Don't worry if it sometimes seems complicated - God's commandments are not burdensome! Always do your best because it will be worth it in the end. And know that God is with you every step of the way, cheering you on your faith journey.
