Guardians of Faith: A Parent's Responsibility in a Contrary World.

Scripture: Deuteronomy 6:6-9 (NIV)

> "These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates."

#### Introduction

- **Opening Statement**: "Greetings, beloved. Today's message will empower us all, especially the parents among us, to understand our divine role as the guardians of our children's faith in a world that often speaks contrary to the Gospel."

#### Point 1: A Matter of the Heart

- **Context**: "The heart is the battleground where the fight for your children's souls begins. When God says, 'be on your hearts,' He's calling for an intimate, internal relationship with His Word."

- **Application**: "Parents, are you setting an example of a heart fully committed to God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit? Your internal life sets the tone for your household."

#### Point 2: The Family Foundation

- **Context**: "'Impress them on your children' is not just a suggestion; it's a divine mandate."

- **Application**: "In a world that's eager to teach your children contrary lessons, such as the denial of God's creation, the relativity of truth, and the notion that Jesus is not the only way—your home must become a sanctuary of Biblical truths."

#### Point 3: The World is Teaching; Are You?

- **Context**: "While you are given the instruction to teach when you 'sit at home,' others are lined up to teach your children the opposite when you are not around."

- **Application**: "In a culture filled with teachers advocating alternative spiritualities and lifestyles, your voice as a parent must be constant and consistent. Teach them that Jesus is the only way to Heaven, and that the Holy Spirit is still active, performing signs and wonders."

#### Point 4: Visible Symbols in an Invisible War

- **Context**: "Symbols like tying them on your hands and doorframes serve as continual reminders for your family."

- **Application**: "Parents, have visible signs of your Faith in your household. These symbols aren’t just reminders for you but lessons for your children in this invisible war against Spirituality. Let them know that God works miracles and the Holy Spirit manifests through believers today."

#### Conclusion:

- **Summary**: "Parents, you are the Spiritual guardians of your home. There is no opt-out option when contrary voices are eager to step in."

- **Call to Action**: "I challenge you this week to sit down with your children and have an intentional conversation about God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Let’s be proactive, not reactive, in our spiritual leadership at home."

- **Closing Prayer**: "Father, equip us to be steadfast guardians of Faith in our homes. Give us the courage to stand against the contrary teachings of the world and lead our families in Your truth.

In Jesus' name, Amen."
