Today, let us reflect on the importance of being aware of our surroundings, a valuable lesson I learned while logging in Oregon in 1977 as an alcoholic and finished logging in 1983 as a pastor. My journey is a testament to the transforming power of God's grace.

Proverbs 3:5-6, it says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths."

* This verse reminds us to trust God and seek His guidance in everything we do. We need to acknowledge God and surrender to His will, and He will direct our paths.

Similarly, in Psalm 32:8, the Lord says, "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you."

* Here, we see that God promises to guide us and teach us. We need to trust in Him and seek His wisdom and guidance to navigate the challenges and complexities of life.

Furthermore, Proverbs 18:15 says, "An intelligent heart acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge."

* This verse emphasizes the importance of awareness of our surroundings and seeking knowledge. Therefore, we must be vigilant and attentive to our environment, learning, growing, and making wise decisions.

In summary, we must trust in the Lord and seek His guidance, be open to learning and growing, and be aware of our surroundings. Then, as we walk through life, we may lean on God's strength and wisdom, knowing He will lead us on a straight path.

Prayer:

Dear God, we thank you for your guidance and wisdom. We pray that you will help us be aware of our surroundings and seek your understanding. Please give us the strength to trust in you and surrender to your will. May we continue to learn and grow and follow the path you have set before us. In Jesus' name, we pray, Amen.
